Eleven, Nay, Twenty Five Years Out [This post just requires tags.]

Twenty five years ago I was introduced to Peter Van Kleef by my friend and boss, Di Anne Love, who was a cultural arts administrator for the City of Oakland. Aesthetically, she knew I would instantaneously fall head over heels in love with Peter's establishment, and she was absolutely right.

From top to bottom, front to back, and side to side, the joint was an riot of art as far as the eye could see. I never failed to be astounded by the man's eclectic creativity.

These are just a few of my impressions over the years.

A collage spanning fifteen years.

To Peter, Cindy, Lance, Florence, the staff, and all the friends and acquaintances I came to know at 1621 Telegraph Ave / Van Kleef Way, but mostly to Peter on the eleventh anniversary of his passing.

A toast. I lift my glass.
